Nowadays silver ware blackens faster than it did during our grandparents time what do you think could be the reason

Eventhough silver is a noble metal its less reactive but blackening of silver is due to the reaction of siver with sulphur in the air

Initially sulphur found in less quantity but nowadays due to the pollution large amount of sulphur is released to atmosphere which increases sulphur content in the air.Hense due to this reason silverware becomes black faster today than it did years ago.
