Solution
The correct option is A5
Double fertilisation is a characteristic feature of the angiosperms. In double fertilisation, after two male gametes are released in the embryo sac by the pollen tube, one male gamete fuses with the egg cell of the ovule to produce the zygote and the other male gamete fuses with the diploid central cell containing two polar nuclei, to produce a triploid Endosperm. Thus, total five nuclei are involved in the process of double fertilisation.
(However, the two polar nuclei may get fused to form a secondary nucleus. Then the number of nuclei involved in double fertilisation are four.)
