The correct option is D $12$
Descending order of terms
$= 50, 42, 35, (2 x + 10,), (2 x - 8), 12, 11, 8$
$\Rightarrow$ Total number of terms $= 8$ (even)
$∴$ Median $=$ $\frac{1}{2} [{\frac{8}{2}}^{t h} term + {(\frac{8}{2} + 1)}^{t h} term]$
$=$ $\frac{1}{2} [(2 x + 10) + (2 x - 8)]$
$=$ $\frac{1}{2} [4 x + 2] = (2 x + 1)$
As per question, we have
$∵ (2 x + 1) = 25$
$∴ x = \frac{25 - 1}{2} = 12$
