Solution

The correct option is B 15.6 gallon
Olivia painted the exterior of a room with 25 quarts more paint than the interior.
We know,
1 quart = 2 pint
25 quart = 2×25 = 50 pint

Let the amount of paint used to paint the interior of a room be x
Amount of paint used to paint the exterior of a room = (50 + x) pint

Total amount of paint used
= {Amount of paint used to paint the interior of a room} + { Amount of paint used to paint the exterior of a room}

200=x+(50+x) (Total paint used = 200 pints)
200=2x+50

2x=20050

2x=150

x=1502=75 pint

Substitute for x to find the amount of paint used to paint the exterior of a room
=(50+x) pint=50+75 pint=125 pint

We know,
1 gallon = 8 pint

1 pint=18gallon

125 pint=1×1258=15.6 gallon

Hence 15.6 gallon of paint is used to paint exterior of the room.
