The pressure of dry atmosphere is given as Pdry atmosphere=PtotalPH2O = 766 – 18 = 748 mm Hg

The pressure of nitrogen and oxygen gases are calculated as follows:-

PN2=78100×748 = 583 mm Hg

PO2=21100×748 = 157 mm Hg
