On a map drawn to a scale of 1:250000, a triangular plot of land has the following measurements : AB=3cm,BC=4cm and ABC=90. Calculate
(i) the actual length of AB in km.
(ii) the area of the plot in sq. km:

AC=32+42=5cm
Actual length of AC=5×250000100×10000km
=1.25km
Actual length of AB =3×250000100×1000km
=0.75km
Actual length of BC=1.2520.752
=1km
Area =12×1×0.75
=0.375km2
