Question

On what basis is the balancing of chemical equations done?

Open in App
Solution

The chemical equation is balanced on the basis of the number of atoms of any element present on both the reactant and product sides. The number of atoms of any element should be equal on both sides. For example,

2A+ 3B2→ 2AB3 this is an equation in which the number of A and B atoms on both the reactant and product sides are equal. As in equation 2, A atoms are present on the reactant side then the same number of A atoms are present on the product side and the same with B.
