At stage (1),
V=22.4 L=22.4×103 m3
T=300 K, n=1 mol
P1=nRTV=1 mol×8.314 Pa m3 mol1K1×300 K22.4×103m3
1.113×105Pa=1.113 bar

At state (2), temperature is doubled but the volume is constant.
Thus, as PαT,P2=2P1=2.226 bar

At state (3), T is 300 K and V is 11.2 L.
So, putting the values in the formula as we did in stage (1),
P=nRTV=2.226 bar
