Question

One of the equation of Power is
P=I?I?R
And the other is
P=(V?V)/R
In the first equation Power is directly proportional to Resistance whereas in the second equation Power is inversely proportional to Resistance .
How can this be possible ??

Solution

Dear student,
The first formula is for series connection and the second is for parallel connection. In series, current remains the same and in parallel voltage remains the same
Power is directly proportional to resistance in series connection and inversely proportional to resistance in parallel connection
