Let the number be $x$ .

One-third of the number $\Rightarrow \frac{1}{3} x$

One-fifth of the number $\Rightarrow \frac{1}{5} x$

Given: $\frac{1}{3} x + \frac{1}{5} x = 32$

$\Rightarrow \frac{5 x + 3 x}{15} = 32$

$\Rightarrow \frac{8 x}{15} = 32$

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{32 \times 15}{8} = 60$

$∴$ The required number = $60$
