N2 + O2 2 NO1 volume of nitrogen combine with 1 volume of oxygen to give 2 volume of nitric oxide.That means 1 L of nitrogen combine with 1 litre of oxygen to give 2 L of NO. To produce 250 ml of nitric oxide the amount of nitrogen needed is = 12 × 250 = 125 mlTo produce 250 ml of nitric oxide the amount of oxygen needed is = 12 × 250 = 125 ml
