The process of ATP synthesis during photosynthesis is called photophosphorylation. The photophosphorylation when involves both the photosystems is called noncyclic photophosphorylation because the electrons from water molecule are used up in reducing NADP and are not cycled back. The cyclic photophosphorylation uses the only photosystem I and the electrons are cycled back. During noncyclic photophosphorylation ATP, NADPH2 are synthesized and oxygen is released. During cyclic photophosphorylation, only ATP is synthesized.
