The organic compounds are the naturally occurring compound which have carbon and hydrogen as the main structural unit with some non metals like N,O,P ,S etc. In organic compounds there always occurs a hydrocarbon and C-C covalent bond .

Ex: Alkane, alcohols, carboxylic acids, etc.

The branch of chemistry which deals with study of such compounds which have carbon and hydrogen as the main structural unit with some non metals like N,O,P ,S is known as organic chemistry.
