Solution
The correct option is A Benthic Ocean is divided into different depth zones. The bottom most water body in the ocean or lake is called the benthic zone. Organisms living on the floor of the ocean or lake in the benthic region are called benthos or benthic organisms. Many of the organisms found in benthic zones are hard to find in other water columns. Benthos include lobsters, squids, sea stars, octopus crabs etc.
Epipelagic zone is the top most photic zone of the water body, where there is abundance of algae and planktons like phytoplanktons that utilise the light energy for photosynthesis. Generally the zone reaches from top of the water level to approximately 200 m downwards. Next layer of the water body is the mesopelagic zone, which ranges from 200 m down to 1000 m approximately. Every zone has a different range of organisms/ animals living in it.
