Owners of motor vehicles equipped with catalytic converters are advised to use unleaded petrol. Why?

Unleaded petrol is used in catalytic converter because if lead is present (in case of leaded petrol) it would inactivate the the catalysts such as platinum, palladium and rhodium which are present in the catalytic converter.
