Solution

Hi,

Combustion is a process in which a substance burn in the presence of air containing oxygen. Although oxygen is non- combustible in nature but oxygen support the process of combustion. Combustion takes place in presence of air as it contain oxygen. While CO is combustible but it do not support combustion. This means even in the absence of CO combustion takes place. Thus oxygen is non - combustible but a supporter of combustion while carbon monoxide is combustible but a non - supporter of combustion.
