1) Our body starts producing antibodies 3-6 months before birth. These are IgM antibody. The level of main antibody IgG starts rising when the child is one year old.
2) Active immunity is better than passive immunity because
(i) it has no side effects.
(ii) it is long lasting.
However, passive immunity provides immediate relief whereas active immunity provides relief after long period.
