Plants which are producers utilize the energy of sun and by the process of photosynthesis produces food. Plants trap some energy of sun in them. When plants are eaten up by herbivores, a portion of the energy stored in plants flows in herbivores. Carnivores take up energy by eating other herbivores. In this way energy flows from one trophic level to the next.

Deforestation is adversely affecting our forest cover as trees are being cut at a fast pace but are not planted back. This is an extreme reason to worry as our forest cover is gradually thinning up.
