We know
v = u +at
at the highest point final velocity wil be zero.
while going upward acceleration is -g
we get
0 = u - gt
where u is the initial velocity.
and t is time taken to reach the highest point from the surface of the earth.
t = u/g

time taken in upward motion and downward motion will be same.
total time = 2u/g
