Question

A body is more likely to get hurt when falling on a cemented floor. Why ?

Open in App
Solution

Because when a body falls from a certain height on a cement floor, the floor does not yield. The total change in linear momentum is produced in a smaller interval of time.

Force=change in momentum/time

So, the floor exert a much large force on the body in the short time.
