Question

A body of mass 10 kg revolves in a circle of diameter 0.4 m making 1000 revolutions per minute. Calculate linear velocity and centripetal acceleration.

Open in App
Solution

Angular velocity, ω=2πnt=2π×100060=200π6 rad/s
So, linear velocity, v=Rω=0.2×200π6=20.95 m/s
And, centripetal acceleration, ac=ω2R=200π62×0.2=2195 m/s2
