Question

A car accelerates uniformly 36km/hr to 54km/hr in 10seconds. find :

1- the acceleration

2- the distance travelled by the car during this interval of time

Open in App
Solution

Initial velocity, u =36km/hr

Final velocity, v = 54km/hr

Time, t= 10s

  1. Acceleration = change in velocity /time = v-u/t
  2. Distance travelled 2as = v2 –u2

Where s = distance

a = acceleration

using the above formulas and substituting the values you can obtain the answer
