A force of 250 N. acts on a surface of area 15square cm. Calculate thrust and pressure.

The pressure, force and area is related as,
$Pressure=\frac{Force}{Area}$
On substituting the values we get,
$$\begin{gathered} P=\frac{250N}{15c{m}^2} \\ \text{That is,} \\ P=\frac{250N}{15\times {10}^{-4}{m}^2} \\ P=1.67\times 10-5Nm-2 \end{gathered}$$

Now, the thrust, pressure and the area is also related as,
$$\begin{gathered} P=\frac{Thrust}{area} \\ or, \\ Thrust=P\times A \end{gathered}$$
On substituting the values we get,
$$\begin{gathered} Thrust=\left(1.67\times {10}^{-5}N/m^2\right)\times \left(15\times {10}^{-4}{m}^2\right) \\ Thrus=250N \end{gathered}$$
