Question

a potential diffrence of 4v is applied to 2 resistors; 2 ohm and 6 ohm in series. calculate

1)combined resistance

2)current flowing

3) potential diffrence across 6 ohm resistor

Open in App
Solution

1 .AS BOTH ARE IN SERIES USE FORMULA OF SERIES CONNECTION

R= 2+6 OHM
8 OHM

2> CURRENT FLOWING (I ) = VR =48 =0.5 AMPERE.

3> POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE ACROSS 6 OHM RESISTOR
V=I×R =0.5 ×6 (AS BOTH RESISTOR ARE IN SERIES THATS WHY SAME CURRENT IS FLOWING ) = 3 VOLT
