Solution

Marked price of bat and ball = Rs.30
Discount = 15%
With each bat there gives a ball free costing Rs.1.50
So, Selling price of bat = 30-30×15100 -1.50= Rs.25.50 - Rs.1.50 = Rs.24
Suppose the cost price of bat is Rs.x.
Profit = 20%
Then, selling price of the bat = x+x×20100 = Rs.24
x+x5 = 246x5 = 24x = 24×56 = 20
Therefore cost price of the bat is Rs.20.
