A soil sample weighing 150g is dried completely by keeping in sunshine.The mass of dried soil is 135g. calculate the percentage of water in the given sample of soil.

Total mass of soil sample = 150 g
​Mass of dried soil = 135 g
Mass of water that has been dried = 150 g - 135 g = 15 g
percentage of water given in the sample = mass of water driedtotal mass of the soil × 100

= 15 g150 g × 100 = 10%

Hence the percentage of water given in the soil sample is 10%.
