Open in App
Solution

Outer length = 40cm

Outer breadth = 34cm

Outer height = 30 cm

∴Outer volume of the box = 40 cm × 34 cm × 30 cm

= 40800 cm3

Thickness = 1 cm

∴Inner length = 40 cm - 1 cm = 39 cm

Inner breadth = 34 cm - 1 cm = 33 cm

Inner height = 30 cm - 1 cm = 29 cm

∴Inner volume of the box = 39 cm × 33 cm × 29 cm

= 37323 cm3

∴Volume of wood = 40800 cm3 -37323 cm3

= 3477 cm3
