An airplane accelerates down a runway a t 3.20 m/S2 for 32.8 s unitl is finally lifts off the ground. Detesrmine the distance traveled before take off.

The plane starts from rest, u = 0. It accelerates with acceleration, a = 3.2 m/s2 for t = 32.8 s.

So, the distance covered before take off is found using,

S = ut + ½ at2

= > S = 0 + ½ × 3.2 × 32.82

= > S = 1721.344 m
