Question

CALCULATE THE FOLLOWING QUANTITIES IN 5.6 G OF NITROGEN GAS :

a)NO.OF MOLES OF NITROGEN

b)NO ,OF ATOMS OF NITROGEN

(atomic mass , N=14u)

Open in App
Solution

Part : I

Nitrogen exit as gas molecule : N2

Molar Mass of N2 gas = 2 x14 = 28 g

No. of Mole = Amount of gas / Molar Mass = 5.6/28 = 0.2 moles.

Part : II

No. of Atoms = No. of Mole x NA = 0.2 x 6.022 x1023

= 0.2 x 6.022 x 1023

= 12.044 x 1022

(NA= Avagrado's Number = 6.022 x 1023)
