Question

Can insectivorous plants absorb nitrogen from air?

Open in App
Solution

No, plants can not absorb nitrogen from the air because in the air nitrogen is not present in the form that plants can use. Hence, they first convert it into the forms that can be easily absorbed by them. Insectivorous plants absorb nitrogen from the insects as they grow in nitrogen-deficient soil.
