Define callus, explant and plantlet
Callus is an undifferentiated mass of tissue. In tissue culture technique, the cells or tissues taken up from a plant under sterile conditions are kept in test tubes containing culture medium, they grow into callus. This callus is then transferred to another medium which induces the formation of plantlets. Plants could be regenerated from explants, i.e., any part of a plant taken out and grown in a test tube, under sterile conditions in special nutrient media.
