Solution

Composite fish culture is a part of intensive fish culture. In composite fish culture, a few selected species of fish are stocked together in proper proportion in a pond. It results in increase in total production of fish many times. It has some advantages such as
1. Compatible species do not harm each other
2. All available areas are fully utilised
3. No competition occurs among different species
4. Fish may have beneficial effect on each other.
Catla catla, Labeo rohita and Cirrhina mrigala are surface feeder, column feeder and bottom feeder respectively and are used for composite farming.
