RNA is usually found in the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cells. Its main function is to transmit genetic information from the DNA of the cell to the cytoplasm. Inside the cytoplasm, proteins are formed using the RNA. It also performs the function of genetic material for some of the viruses. It also controls some of the chemical processes occurring in the cell.
