Does a red blood cell reproduce? Why?

Red blood cells cannot reproduce as they do not have nucleus. In order to reproduce, cell need to double their genetic material and have to divide. But due to the absence of nucleus they are unable to double their genetic material thus cannot divide and cannot reproduce.
