In general we do not inherit immunity. We get protection from mothers against diseases when we are inside our mother’s womb but it is temporary. Immunity depends upon the T cells and B cells that a body produces. This production is mediated by some immunoglobulin genes. There are some genes that we inherit which protect us from some specific diseases. This is known as inherited immunity. It is more common in other mammals than in human.
