When two bodies are rubbed, the charge lost from one body is gained by the other body. So, the amount of charge lost from one body is equal to the amount of charge gained by the other body. As the body which lost electrons acquire a net positive charge and the body which gained electrons will get a net negative charge, the charges of the bodies are opposite in polarity.
