Solution

Impact of mining on

  1. Health and safety of miners: the dust and toxic fumes in mines results in many pulmonary diseases among miners. Miners also are under threat of collapsing mining roofs and inundation by water and also fires in coal mines.
  2. On Environment: Indiscrimate mining results in various types of environment pollution. The dust from mines and also transport causes severe air pollution. The dumping of wastes, land fill and slurry pollutes water bodies and also the soil around mining centres.

By implementing strict safety laws and environment laws, mining can be a safer industry. Also, ensuring adherence to these laws will only make it safer and the tag of 'killer industry' will be removed.
