Solution

The green pigment chlorophyll present in the leaves of the plants absorbs sunlight. It takes CO₂ from the atmosphere & water from soil to prepare their own food (carbohydrates) by a process known as photosynthesis. Sunight provide energy to carry out the process . In this way, they convert solar energy into chemical energy.
