Solution

The potato pieces of Beaker A will swell up as water from outside will enter inside the potato. This is because sugar concentration of the solution is lesser than that of the potato. According to the process of osmosis water from hypotonic solution will rush into the potato as solute concentration is high inside the potato.

In beaker B the solution contains 10% sugar. Here the solution of the beaker is hypertonic than the potato sap. Thus in this solution the potato pieces will shrink as water from the potato will come out towards the hypertonic solution. This is also osmosis where water moves towards the solution with higher concentration.
