Fungi are present in kingdom protista as well as it also present in its own kingdom Fungi . why?

Fungi were historically placed under kingdom protista as this kingdom had unicellular organisms like yeasts which are unicellular eukaryotes and also the boundaries of kingdom protista are not well defined. However we now that yeast are fungi. Members of kingdom fungi are heterotrophic and have diverse morphology and habitat.
