Solution

Dear Student,

Some chemical reaction in our daily life:

  • Rusting of iron objects left exposed to humid atmosphere – redox reaction

The chemical equation of rusting of Iron is :

4 Fe + 3 O 2 + 2x H 2 O → 2 Fe 2 O 3 .xH 2 O

  • Souring of milk- fermentation (decomposition reaction)
  • Photosynthesis : The reaction is given below :

6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • Digestion of food - decomposition reaction
  • Respiration – Exothermic reaction

The chemical reaction for aerobic cellular respiration is:

C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy

It is an exothermic reaction because enerrgy in the form of heat is given out.

  • Marble statues attacked by acid rain- displacement reaction
Marble stone majorly contains Calcium carbonate, which reacts with the acid rain water as follows:

CaCO3 + H2SO4 --------> CaSO4 + H2O + CO2

Thus the marble statues are damaged.
