Open in App
Solution

Trade increased during proto industrialisation through the following:

a. Due to increased relationship between the town and the countryside.
b. The merchants supplied money to artisans residing in the countryside, compelling them to expand their production so as to cater to international market.
c. Merchants provided for raw material to the peasants and artisans in the country side who in turn produced for them. This thus brought about a huge network of commercial exchanges.
d. Trade also increased so as to cater to increased demand because of growing population and because of control of more colonies.
