How does astronault do communication in Space?
Hi Himanshu!
Sound needs a medium for propagation. As the space consists of vacuum, the astronauts cannot communicate directly. So, they make use of a radio link (wireless transmitter and receiver) for communication. The radio signals are electromagnetic signals, so they don’t need a medium for transmission. The transmitter converts the sound signals into radio signals for transmission. The astronaut’s headset will convert the radio signals back to sound signals.
