how does ingestion of prey and excretion of wastes take place in paramecium and euglena
Paramecium sweeps food or prey with its cilia along with some water into the cell mouth after the food falls into the oral groove. The food is ingested from the cell mouth into the gullet. After digestion the waste remains in the vacuole which is passed out through the anal pore.
Euglena notmally ingests food by phagocytosis. It has two flagella one leading and the other trailing which guides the food. The food is ingested through a cytostome supported by microtubules. The excreta is egested either by diffusion or through excretory vacuoles.
