Question

How does the human heart continue to beat even after it is taken out of the body or cut in to pieces?

Open in App
Solution

There is a node present called SA node in the heart which can stimulate the heart beat on its own for some time if entire heart is isolated. If the heart is cut into pieces then it would beat for a very short time. SA node is called the pacemaker of the heart because it provides the stimulus for heart beat.
