Question

how does transpiration help in the absorption and transport of water

Open in App
Solution

Transpiration decreases the hydrostatic pressure in the upper parts of plant creating transpiration pull due to which water easily move against gravity from roots to upper parts. Water absorbed in the root move upward due to this transpiration pull and capillary action. Thus, transpiration assists in transportation of water in plants.
