Question

HOW IS TRANSPORT AND EXCHANGE OF CARBON-DIOXIDE AND OXYGEN TAKING PLACE IN HUMAN BEINGS?

Open in App
Solution

Arteries carry oxygenated blood and supply blood to whole body while veins carry deoxygenated blood and take blood to heart back for purification. Oxygenated (oxygen rich) blood is supplied to body cells and deoxygenated blood ( CO2 rich) is collected. Oxygenated blood is supplied to whole body cells, and then gaseous exchanges occur in capillaries which results in blood taking up CO2 through diffusion and leaving oxygen to body tissues.
