Question

how will you connect three resistors of resistors 2Ω , 3Ω and 6Ω to obtain a total resistance of 2.5 ? draw the diagram to show the arrangement .

Open in App
Solution

With the given resistances 2Ω , 3 Ω and 6 Ω,we can't obtain a total resistance of 2.5.

If the three resistors are connected in series,then R=2+3+6=11 ohm

If the three resistors are connected in parallel,

Then 1/R=1/2 +1/3 +1/6

R=1 ohm

If , 6 ohm and 3ohm resistors are connected in parallel and their equivalent resistor of resistance 2 ohm is connected to a

2 ohm resistor in series.Then net resistance is 2 ohm.

Similarly you can check other combinations also.
