If a RBC is placed in 40N sugar solution. What will happen to it? If the same cell is later placed in a hypotonic solution. What changes will you see in it?
If a red blood cell is placed inside concentration sugar solution, the water will come out and the cell will shrink. This happens because the concentration of the solution outside is higher than inside the cell. Thus as a result of osmosis, water comes out of the cell to maintain equilibrium.
If the same cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, water from the solution will enter inside the cell and the blood cell will again come back to its original shape.
