If R1=10 ohms,R2=40 ohms,R3=30 ohms,R4=20 ohms,R5=60 and a 12 volt battery is connected to the arrangement.Calculate:

(a)the total resistance in the circuit, and

(b)the tootal current flowing inthe circuit.

Considering the components to be in series:

a. The equivalent resistance of the circuit is = 10 + 40 + 30 + 20 + 60 = 160 Ω

b. The current through the circuit is = 12/160 = 0.075 A
